Transfer from Venice airport to Badia (approx 3 hr travel time). Leaving time at Venice airport will be based on your flight arrival time. Please book flights that arrive before 2pm. Check-in at the hotel in Badia and enjoy a welcome reception with Rasori Expeditions and briefing about the tour with our trail expert and guides. The transfer from Venice to our hotel in Badia is included in the trip price. Our Badia hotel is the charming Hotel Teresa (see itinerary for photos).
Starting from Badia we hike through the typical Ladin settlements, to Furnacia. Less strenuous route: ~ 6.21 miles (approx 1509 ft elevation gain with approx 1575 ft elevation loss). More strenuous route: ~8.08 miles (approx 2723 ft) elevation gain with approx 2789 elevation loss). From here we have a wonderful view on the village of La Val, our destination for today. From La Val bypassing the “Dlijia Vedla”, the little church of Saint Barbara, we hike along the typical hamlets to Crusc da Rit. On the other side of the mountain we follow the trail towards San Viglio. Less strenuous route: ~5.59 miles (approx 1673 elevation gain & 2198 elevation loss) More strenuous route: ~10.87 miles (approx 2510 ft elevation gain & 3018 elevation loss). B, L, D included.
